The POCC Hoe Wa’a Challenge well be held all day on Saturday, August 12, 2017.


  • Canoe Loan Request:  July 15, 2017.
  • Team Registration:  August 1, 2017 (11:59 PM EDT)
  • Late Registration: August 2, 2017 – August 9, 2017 ($420 USD)


  • Registration fee $360
  • Late Registration: August 2, 2017 – August 9, 2017 ($420 USD)
  • Separate registration required for each boat racing.
  • Registration fees from the POCC Hoe Wa’a Challenge go directly to cover the event costs.  Should the event be cancelled by the Race Director due to weather or other safety concerns, refunds will not be provided.

  • Registration fees are per crew not per paddler
  • Each registered crew will receive 6 luau tickets (at race check-in) which are transferable.


  • Canoe loan requests to be made through registration form submission and to be coordinated by POCC Hoe Wa’a Race Committee.
  • Please do not reach out to other clubs directly to avoid double booking.
  • Canoe Rental Fee $300 USD to be collected by the POCC Hoe Wa’a Race Committee and passed through to the team renting their canoe).
  • Completing registration does not guarantee a canoe.  Requesting teams will receive a confirmation email once a boat loan is arranged.
  • After the boat loan deadline (July 15, 2017), teams needing a canoe should not register without prior approval from the POCC Hoe Wa’a Planning team.


  • Luau included in athlete’s registration fee.
  • Extra luau tickets for guests available for purchase at
    • Adults 12+ years: $35.00
    • Children 6-12 years: $15.00
    • Children under 6 years: free


  • All athletes are required to complete a waiver to participate in the POCC Hoe Wa’a Challenge.  
  • As soon as your captain has registered your crew, your captain will have a link that should be sent to you to allow you to complete the online waiver.  
  • Please contact your captain for the link.


  • Paddlers are welcome to form a team on their own not affiliated with a club.  
  • Please use our Hoe Wa`a Challenge  Facebook page to connect with other paddlers that may be looking for a team.  
  • Once a team of 6 is formed, the crew captain can register the team.
