  • Need to bring personal flotation device, not the inflatable type

Note for OC-1/OC-2 clinics:

  • Need to be experienced in ocean paddling

DEADLINES

  • Canoe Loan Request:  July 15, 2018.

  • Registration:  August 7, 2018 (11:59 PM EDT)

  • Late Registration: August 8, 2018 – August 15, 2018

  • No race day registrations

REGISTRATION

  • Registration through August 7, 2018

    • Paddling Clinics

      • OC-6 with Kekoa Cramer $125 USD per paddler

      • OC-1/OC-2 with Kai Bartlett $125 USD per paddler *BYO OC-1/OC-2

    • Ozone Hoe Wa`a Challenge women’s, men’s and mixed OC-6 races $360 USD (per team)

    • Sunova Waterman’s Challenge – long and short races

      • OC-1/surfski/paddleboard (prone and stand-up) $50 USD

      • OC-2 $100 USD (per team)

    • Separate registration required for each team/craft racing.

  • Late Registration: August 8, 2018 – August 15, 2018

    • Ozone Hoe Wa`a Challenge women’s, men’s and mixed OC-6 races $420 USD (per team)

    • Sunova Waterman’s Challenge – long and short races

      • OC-1/surfski/paddleboard (prone and stand-up) $60 USD

      • OC-2 $120 USD (per team)

  • Registration fees from the POCC Hoe Wa`a Challenge go directly to cover the event costs.  Should the event be cancelled by the Race Director due to weather or other safety concerns, refunds will not be provided.

  • No race day registrations on site

DOUBLE PADDLERS (for the OC-6 Race)

  • Registration fees are per crew not per paddler

  • For the OC-6 teams, each registered OC-6 crew will receive 6 luau tickets (at race check-in) which are transferable.

OC-6 CANOE LOAN

  • Canoe loan requests to be made through registration form submission and to be coordinated by POCC Hoe Wa`a Race Committee.

  • Please do not reach out to other clubs directly to avoid double booking.

  • OC-6 Canoe Rental Fee $300 USD to be collected by the POCC Hoe Wa`a Race Committee and passed through to the team renting their canoe).

  • Completing registration does not guarantee a canoe.  Requesting teams will receive a confirmation email once a canoe loan is arranged.

  • After the canoe loan deadline (July 15, 2018), teams needing a canoe should not register without prior approval from the POCC Hoe Wa`a Planning team.

LUAU/LUNCH

Saturday:

  • Luau included in OC-6 athlete’s registration fee only for Saturday OC-6 teams. All others welcome to purchase luau tickets prior to August 15th, 2018

  • Luau tickets for guests/non-OC-6 athletes available for purchase at http://www.pocchoewaa.com/luau/

Sunday:

  • Lunch included in Waterman’s Challenge athletes: OC-1/OC-2/surfski/paddleboard registration fee

  • Lunch tickets for guests/non-Waterman’s Challenge athletes available for purchase: http://www.pocchoewaa.com/luaulunch/

REGISTERED ATHLETE WAIVERS 

  • All athletes are required to complete a waiver to participate in the POCC Hoe Wa`a Challenge.  

  • As soon as your captain has registered your crew, your captain will have a link that should be sent to you to allow you to complete the online waiver.  

  • Please contact your captain for the link.

FREE AGENT PADDLERS FOR OC-6 RACE

  • Paddlers are welcome to form a team on their own not affiliated with a club.  

  • Please use our Hoe Wa`a Challenge Facebook page to connect with other paddlers that may be looking for a team.  

  • Once a team of 6 is formed, the crew captain can register the team.

STEERERS FOR OC-6 RACE

  • Ocean Experienced Steerers pool will be available (stay tuned) for teams that are interested in racing but lack ocean racing experience.

  • The Steerer will be volunteering and will not contribute to registration cost.

  • Once a team of 6 is formed, the crew captain can register the team.
